A Personal Message From Dr. Justin Pratt

Along with my cheerful and supportive team, I am dedicated to offering you and your family genuinely heartfelt family-focused care.

Why I Chose Dentistry

Having grown up in Kirkland Lake it was an obvious choice for me to come home to practice after earning my degree from Western University in London. I’ve always wanted to work in the health field and love dentistry because of the flexibility of choice it provides. There are so many options available to us while we work together to help you attain optimal oral health with a confident smile.

Practice Philosophy

Because I take such pleasure from making people smile, I know that my first job as a Kirkland Lake dentist is to fully understand your needs and wishes so I can help you find solutions that fit your budget. After all – we live in a small community – I want to know that I’m giving you everything you want and need for your dental needs, so when I see you while out and about, your smile is genuine and authentic.

Personal Time

When I’m not working with my family of patients, I love spending time with my own family. My wonderful wife Naomi is originally from Sarnia and loves Kirkland Lake as much as I do. She is a teacher who is currently a stay-at-home mom for our five children. We all love spending time boating on the lake, and when I do have downtime, enjoy spending it with a good book.

Why I Chose Dentistry

Improving one’s appearance improves their quality of life. Improving one’s mouth function alleviates pain and discomfort and improves nutrition. I chose dentistry because both are primary aspects of dental care. Oral health plays a key role in overall health – both mentally and physically – and I’m honoured to have found a profession that addresses both.

Practice Philosophy

My healthcare philosophy is to provide the best evidence-based care using the most recent and up-to-date techniques while focusing on a patient-centred approach that is tailored specifically to each individual’s needs and wants. My main focus is to help my patients achieve their oral health goals in a friendly and professional manner which raises my patients’ self-confidence. And that is truly gratifying. I also enjoy alleviating people’s anxieties about going to the dentist by ensuring they’re comfortable in our caring environment.

Personal Time

While studying at McMaster University in Hamilton and at the University of Toronto, I knew I wanted to practice in a smaller community and Kirkland Lake fit the bill – small, friendly, and it allows me to provide care to a wide demographic. And of course, our surrounding nature provides many opportunities for outdoor activities like exploring nature, hiking, biking, rollerblading, and travelling. In my spare time at home, I like to cook and try new foods and listen to music or watch a movie.
